About the Role
This is a project-based internship supporting the AI Design Hub in developing, testing, and deploying AI-enabled workflows to enhance the Design development process. Interns will be embedded with designers and studio engineering to address real-world challenges and build usable tools.
Key Responsibilities
- AI workflow development: Prototype AI agents, automations, and tools.
- 3D and geometry automation: Experiment with AI-assisted 3D creation, surfacing, morphing, Blender workflows, and geometry translation.
- Packaging intelligence: Develop AI-assisted packaging tools using engineering standards, vehicle architecture data, competitive benchmarks, and Design requirements.
- Design knowledge: Organize and structure Design data for AI retrieval of historical programs, standards, lessons learned, and best practices.
- Rapid prototyping: Quickly turn ideas into working proof-of-concepts.
- Testing and validation: Test prototypes with designers, document performance, and identify workflow improvements.
- Value measurement: Quantify benefits like time saved, process compression, rework reduction, and capacity creation.
Expected Internship Output
- Deliver two to three working AI prototypes tied to real Design workflows.
- Each prototype should have measurable before-and-after impact.
- Provide a recommendation for future scaling.
- Present prototypes and results to Design leadership.
Tools and Environment
- Microsoft Visual Studio Code with GitHub Copilot
- Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Studio
- Stellantis GenAI Playground (no-code chat environment with ChatGPT, Claude, etc.)
- GenAI Gateway (API access to GPT, Claude, Mistral, Cohere, DeepSeek, Llama, Nova, and Titan model families)
- Stell.AI (Databricks platform for Python, scikit-learn, PyTorch, XGBoost, and generative AI via Hugging Face Transformers)
- Snowflake for data warehousing
- Blender and the studio 3D toolchain
