Reliability & Maintenance Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Execute daily/weekly/monthly preventive maintenance per PPM/APM schedule.
• Troubleshoot and repair conveyor systems, PLC control systems, network systems, electrical/mechanical systems, and MHE.
• Coordinate with vendors for warranty/AMC equipment servicing.
• Manage shift FM agency teams (technical and soft services).
• Ensure closure of maintenance tickets within defined TAT.
• Maintain records for utilities (water, electricity, STP/WTP).
• Drive safety compliance and safe work permit systems.
• Manage spare parts inventory and reorder processes.
• Conduct RCA for incidents/breakdowns and share learnings.
• Maintain building housekeeping and 5S standards.
• Ensure completion of scheduled/unscheduled/emergency jobs to meet customer expectations.
• Attend TT/service calls for corrective maintenance, service, and repair works.
• Assess complaints and ensure closure within defined TAT with a feedback mechanism.
• Contribute to organizational/RME function growth through innovative ideas & kaizens.
• Ensure planned PM & checks from vendors for systems under warranty/AMC.
• Adhere to the escalation process for various issues and works.
• Maintain and troubleshoot all conveyor systems, electrical and mechanical systems, and record findings & gaps.
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot power distribution systems, branch circuits, lighting systems, transformers, and wiring methods/materials.
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components such as photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, Servo drives, frequency inverters, linear drives, tacks, and encoders.
• Support production in a safe, customer-focused manner.
• Perform refurbishment and upgrade works for building finishes, fixtures, fittings, equipment, fixed furniture, and OPS equipment (e.g., Trolley, Cages, Carts).
• Implement safe work permit systems for height work, hot work, confined space & electrical permits.
• Update tools inventory using the EAM tool and manage reordering requests.
• Oversee soft services activities like pest control, housekeeping, and scrap/waste disposal.
• Ensure planned statutory test/report submission and reporting.
• Improve OPEX spend to achieve set targets.
• Ensure SOP adherence.
• Manage equipment maintenance (Conveyors, workstations, Labeling Machines, PLC control systems, electrical systems, trolleys, etc.).
• Provide timely feedback/inputs to FM agency team members and enhance their skill levels.
• Ensure contractors/vendors follow rules and handle projects with minimal inconvenience.
• Follow up on material purchasing with the Procurement Team/OEM or supplier.
• Update spare part consumption in the portal and ensure reorder requests.
• Prioritize daily equipment issues as per plan.
• Define goals, priorities, organize staff planning, and conduct training for FM agency teams to ensure service levels.
• Train FM agency teams (technical and soft services) on new processes, instructions, and manuals.
• Maintain a safe work environment by applying the Amazon Safety Policy and collaborating with the Safety team.
• Maintain building housekeeping to 5S standards by managing a diverse team.
• Maintain, follow, upgrade, and store relevant documents for the RME function.
• Act as a leader within the group and other teams.
• Offer positive and creative solutions.
• Provide immediate technical guidance to operations during critical events.

A Day in the Life

• Shift handover and equipment status review.
• Floor inspection of critical systems (conveyors, fire protection, UPS).
• Respond to trouble tickets and prioritize corrective maintenance.
• Coordinate with vendors and FM teams on ongoing work orders.
• Update maintenance logs in the APM portal.
• End-of-day reporting and next-shift briefing.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics and Communication/Instrumentation and Controls experience.
• Conveyors/automation/control systems maintenance experience.
• Experience with professional documentation using the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
