About the Role
Zebra Technologies is seeking a Software Engineer, I to design, develop, analyze, and maintain software solutions for the organization’s products and systems. This role involves system integration of software and hardware, development, validation, and testing of software functionality and associated documentation. Work is reviewed for overall adequacy, allowing for independence in day-to-day responsibilities. The position contributes to improving existing methodologies and building productive working relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, and tests software components as part of a larger project, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
- Creates and maintains documentation detailing specific software functionality and design specifications.
- Participates in code reviews and provides constructive feedback.
- Contributes to the development and testing of software solutions, analyzes results, and conducts root cause analysis to diagnose and resolve issues.
- Recommends and implements solutions to complex technical challenges, ensuring compliance with quality processes and standards.
- Modifies and enhances existing software, improving functionality, scalability, and performance.
- Proactively seeks out opportunities to enhance performance and productivity by recommending new tools or methodologies.
- Demonstrates sound judgment for software development and testing tasks.
- Assists less experienced staff with existing practices and processes.
- Builds productive working relationships within the team, across organizational units, and with external customers.
- Interacts with inter-organizational and external stakeholders to address project-related needs or resolve issues.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Strong in data structures, algorithms, system design, and writing clean, maintainable, and highly optimized code across software development frameworks.
- Good interest in and exposure to modern Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and intelligent system architectures through projects, internships, or professional experience.
- Good understanding of cloud-based architectures (e.g., GCP), containerized environments, and CI/CD.
- Knowledge of both backend and modern front-end application interfaces.
- Practical understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC), including Agile/Scrum methodologies, version control systems, debugging, and comprehensive system testing.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and eager with strong communication and collaboration skills.
Qualifications
- B.Tech/B.E. in Computer Science or related engineering discipline.
