About the Role
- This is a Spring 2026 Internship opportunity at Medlaunch Concepts.
- The goal is for interns and contractors to transition into full-time employees.
- Interns will be given full-time responsibilities from day one.
- The role involves working in a high-velocity growth startup environment.
- The focus is on AI-native builders, not traditional manual testers.
- Interns will leverage agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Codex), Model Context Protocols (MCPs), and Playwright to build, maintain, and scale a high-speed QA and regression architecture.
- You will work directly with the engineering team on a production healthcare platform.
- Compensation: The base internship position is unpaid. Candidates with needed experience who can hit the ground running may be hired on a paid contract basis. Qualified candidates may receive upfront equity compensation. Both tracks carry a strong possibility for full-time conversion based on performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Own critical parts of the automated quality infrastructure.
- Specialize in one or more of the following areas:
AI-Native Test Automation & Regression Engineering
- Build, execute, and scale end-to-end automated test suites using Playwright.
- Maintain and evolve the QA repository test harness, proactively updating selectors, page objects, and test flows as the React frontend changes.
- Operate and monitor automated regression systems, using AI-assisted debugging and scripting (via Claude Code, Codex) for stuck runs or novel edge cases.
- Build and integrate Model Context Protocol (MCP) workflows for AI agents to inspect application state and autonomously generate or repair test scripts.
Application Testing & Quality Assurance
- Design and execute comprehensive, high-leverage test plans for the healthcare portal, APIs, and integrations.
- Identify and document complex bugs, usability bottlenecks, and edge cases.
- Rigorously test healthcare compliance features (HIPAA, document security, role-based access, and audit trails).
- Create performance and load-testing scenarios for document upload and processing workflows.
AI/ML Quality Support
- Collaborate on testing document processing and extraction accuracy.
- Help validate machine learning models for healthcare document extraction and alignment.
- Design test datasets for training, benchmarking, and validating AI systems.
- Analyze and report on AI/ML model performance and data quality.
Data Quality Assurance
- Develop automated data quality monitoring and validation processes across databases.
- Build automated checks for data integrity and consistency across data pipelines.
- Create dashboards and alerts for data quality and regression metrics.
Process Improvement & Agentic Strategy
- Analyze current QA bottlenecks and replace manual workflows with AI-accelerated pipelines.
- Research and recommend new agentic testing tools, MCP integrations, and automation methodologies.
- Participate in technical decision-making, sprint planning, and maintaining the QA knowledge base.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- AI-Native Workflow: Hands-on proficiency using AI coding agents (Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, etc.) to write, refactor, and debug test scripts at high velocity.
- Strong understanding of software testing principles, DOM manipulation, and asynchronous web behavior.
- Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript or Python.
- Ability to read React frontend code to fix and update the QA harness.
- Basic knowledge of databases and API testing.
- High agency and problem-solving skills.
- Testing & Automation: Playwright (primary), API testing tools, CI/CD regression runners.
- Frontend & Scripting: React (reading/understanding UI changes), TypeScript/JavaScript, Python.
- Version Control: Git, GitHub.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent demonstrated builder experience).
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct experience building and maintaining Playwright test suites and test harnesses.
- Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) and connecting AI agents to testing workflows.
- Knowledge of healthcare IT, compliance requirements, or regulated industries.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated regression environments.
- Previous internship, contract, or project experience in QA automation or software engineering.
What You'll Gain
Professional Development
- Real Impact: Work directly protects and accelerates a production healthcare platform.
- Mentorship: Work closely with senior engineers and receive structured feedback.
- Healthcare Domain Knowledge: Learn about healthcare compliance, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.
- Enterprise Technology: Gain experience with production-grade systems, security, and scalability.
Technical Skills
- Cutting-edge AI-augmented engineering and agentic QA workflows (Playwright, MCPs, Claude Code/Codex).
- Maintaining resilient test harnesses against rapidly evolving React frontends.
- AI/ML model testing and validation techniques.
- Modern CI/CD and automated regression practices.
Career Opportunities
- Flexible Entry Tracks: Start as an intern or, for those with proven experience, jump right in on a paid contract basis.
- Immediate Value: Potential upfront equity compensation based on qualifications.
- Full-Time Path: Both internship and contract tracks are designed with the goal of full-time conversion based on performance.
- Network with healthcare technology professionals and build a portfolio of real-world, AI-native projects.
