About the Role

In this role, you will contribute to CI/CD, infrastructure automation, environment lifecycle management, observability, and incident response. You will work alongside experienced engineers to improve deployment reliability, troubleshoot operational issues, and turn recurring manual tasks into reusable tools and automation. You will own well-defined engineering tasks, contribute to technical design discussions, and develop the skills to support services independently within an agreed scope. You will use AI-assisted engineering tools with appropriate review, testing, and validation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application releases, hotfixes, and infrastructure changes across Production and Non-Production environments.
  • Contribute to service onboarding, release branching, artifact and bill-of-materials management, and promotion workflows.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code modules for environment provisioning, configuration, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
  • Support containerized applications on Kubernetes and OCI, troubleshooting workload health, resource constraints, and infrastructure dependencies.
  • Build scripts, tools, API integrations, and reusable automation that reduce repetitive operational work and improve developer productivity.
  • Implement automated health checks, environment comparisons, and configuration drift detection to improve deployment readiness and troubleshooting.
  • Develop and improve dashboards, metrics, logs, and alerts; help identify monitoring gaps, recurring failures, and unnecessary alert noise.
  • Troubleshoot pipeline, deployment, application, infrastructure, and networking issues; document findings and escalate complex problems with supporting evidence.
  • Validate changes in NonProduction and support controlled Production rollouts, canary checks, feature-flag changes, and rollback procedures.
  • Participate in the assigned oncall rotation following onboarding and readiness assessment, using established runbooks and escalation procedures.
  • Contribute to incident investigations and blameless root-cause analysis, including timelines, mitigation details, and corrective and preventive actions.
  • Prepare weekly oncall summaries, keep incident records current, and provide clear handovers covering open issues, temporary mitigations, and follow-up actions.
  • Assist with capacity monitoring, service-limit tracking, resource utilization, and cloud cost optimization.
  • Support infrastructure maintenance, OS patching, vulnerability remediation, and certificate or secrets lifecycle activities using established procedures.
  • Apply AI-assisted tools to coding, testing, documentation, log analysis, and troubleshooting; review generated outputs and validate results before use.
  • Contribute to reusable operational tools, frameworks, skills, or agents with appropriate access controls, auditability, and human oversight.
  • Evaluate technical tradeoffs with senior engineers across reliability, performance, scalability, security, cost, and operational complexity; document recommendations and implementation decisions.
  • Maintain runbooks, technical documentation, automated tests, and operational knowledge; collaborate through code reviews and cross-team investigations.

Requirements & Tech Stack

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Hands-on experience in software engineering, DevOps, SRE, or cloud infrastructure through professional work, internships, or substantial projects.
  • Ability to write maintainable code in a language such as Python, Go, or Java, and use shell scripting for operational tasks.
  • Working knowledge of Linux, Git, code review, automated testing, and software development practices.
  • Understanding of CI/CD concepts, deployment workflows, and artifact management.
  • Familiarity with containers, Kubernetes, and at least one major cloud platform (OCI, AWS, or Azure).
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code and tools such as Terraform.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals, including DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP, TLS, and load balancing.
  • Understanding of monitoring, logging, alerting, and systematic troubleshooting.
  • Ability to implement well-defined tasks, test changes, communicate findings, and seek guidance or escalate when needed.
  • Interest in using AI-assisted engineering tools, with a commitment to reviewing outputs, protecting sensitive information, and validating results.
  • Ability to collaborate across development, infrastructure, security, and release teams and work effectively across time zones.
  • Willingness to participate in an assigned oncall rotation, including scheduled after-hours coverage, after appropriate training.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with OCI services (or other Cloud Platform services) such as K8s, IAM, networking, compute, Object Storage, or DevOps tooling.
  • Experience developing Terraform modules, Helm charts, or other infrastructure and deployment configurations.
  • Exposure to Prometheus, Grafana, centralized logging, OpenTelemetry, or distributed tracing.
  • Experience troubleshooting Kubernetes deployments, application health checks, resource usage, or scaling behavior.
  • Familiarity with release and hotfix workflows, artifact/BOM management, feature flags, or configuration promotion.
  • Understanding of service-level indicators, service-level objectives, availability, and incident response.
  • Experience building command-line tools, API integrations, self-service workflows, or reusable automation libraries.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted diagnostic tools, operational agents, or automated report generation.
  • Familiarity with IAM, secrets management, secure deployment practices, and change traceability.
  • Exposure to multi-region or multi-tenant environments, cloud cost optimization, or capacity management.
  • Experience in healthcare or another environment requiring strong security, auditability, and change governance.

What Success Looks Like

  • Delivering tested, maintainable automation and pipeline improvements.
  • Completing well-defined engineering tasks with increasing independence and clear communication.
  • Troubleshooting common operational issues and escalating complex problems effectively.
  • Improving deployment reliability, environment visibility, and operational documentation.
  • Reducing repetitive support work through reusable tools and automation.
  • Participating effectively in incident response, weekly reviews, and cross-region handovers.
  • Building the judgment and technical skills to support Production services safely within an agreed scope.
