About the Role

As a FedEx Intern, you will be working on projects gaining valuable, real-world experience in a professional environment as it relates to your field of study.

Key Responsibilities

• Under close supervision, assist with providing analytical support to drive efficiency, consistency, and control throughout current business initiatives.
• Assist with industry market research, global business intelligence, and emerging trends analysis.
• Analyze specific business metrics and research/analyze data, industry trends, and market information to gain insight into transportation and logistics metrics in identified industry verticals.
• Present and deliver long-term solutions that will have significant impacts to the business and/or customer experience.
• Participate in various networking and/or community service events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Assist in building, testing, and scaling state-of-the-art pricing recommendation engines, predictive models, and agentic solutions utilizing machine learning frameworks.
• Support the research, development, and testing of AI agents and automated optimization systems that improve pricing decision-making and operational speed.
• Work with large, complex datasets to perform data extraction, cleaning, mapping, and pipeline automation.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Hands-on Modern Data Stack Experience: Practical experience or academic project work utilizing Python, SQL, PySpark/Spark within Azure or GCP environments.
• Cloud Native Exposure: Familiarity with cloud infrastructure concepts. Knowledge of GCP services like BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Vertex AI is a plus.
• Mathematical & Predictive Modeling Foundations: Strong academic coursework or background in predictive modeling, price optimization, machine learning frameworks, and statistical analysis.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled student or recent college graduate (within 6 months of graduation) at a college/university obtaining a 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Degree: Master’s degree program such as Business, Finance/Economics, Computer Science, Management, Project Management, Information Systems, Operations Management, Operations Research, Supply Chain/Logistics, Transportation, Engineering, Technology, Math, Marketing or other related major.
• Minimum Experience: No experience required.
• Ability to work productively and proactively, both independently and as a part of a team.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills.
• Time management, organizational, and multi-tasking skills necessary to work in a fast-paced environment, handling various tasks and changing priorities, while maintaining a high attention to detail and accuracy to achieve daily assignments and goals.
• Verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with across business units and to all levels of management.
• Ability to analyze, review, and make recommendations.

This is a hybrid position located in Memphis, TN. Candidates must live within 50 miles of the campus location.

Employees will be required to work at the FedEx campus location several times per week.

Availability to work 40 hours/week for a 10-week program, June 7th - August 13th.
