Junior Software Engineer

About the Role

This role starts on our AI Development Experience projects. You'll work next to engineers who have shipped production software for years.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and improve the tools and workflows our engineers use to ship with AI.
• This could include an internal agent, coding guidelines, or a way to monitor model performance.
• Over time, you will also work with clients.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• JavaScript
• TypeScript
• Node.js
• React.js
• AI coding tools
• You are comfortable in a meeting and can explain your work clearly to engineers and non-engineers alike.
• You own every line you ship, including the ones you didn't type.

What We're Looking For

• Proactive and self-starting initiative.
• Ability to get unstuck and make reasonable calls when faced with ambiguity.
• Raise blockers the same day.
• Use AI tools with judgment, understanding their limitations and verifying output.
• Awareness of the next person in the codebase, prioritizing code reuse and security.
• Adaptability to change, as AI tooling moves fast.
• Experience can come from a CS degree, bootcamp, internships, or self-teaching.

How We Interview

• Two conversations, no algorithm puzzles.
• A 30-minute video call to discuss background and the role.
• A ~1 hour 45 minute interview with two engineers, including:
• Project walkthrough.
• System design discussion.
• Agentic programming on a small codebase using familiar tools.
• Conversation about work methods and career goals.
