About the Role

Neonflake is seeking a mechanical engineering intern comfortable in SolidWorks with hands-on experience in FDM 3D printers. The intern will manage the process from idea generation to CAD design and printed prototypes, iterating as needed for fit and functionality.

Key Responsibilities

• Design parts, enclosures, and assemblies in SolidWorks.
• Prepare models for FDM printing, including orientation, supports, tolerances, and slicer settings.
• Operate and maintain 3D printers, and troubleshoot failed prints.
• Prototype, test fit, and revise designs.
• Create basic 2D drawings and maintain organized design files.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Working proficiency in SolidWorks (part modeling, assemblies, drawings).
• Hands-on experience operating FDM printers (e.g., Bambu Lab, Elegoo, Creality Ender).
• Familiarity with a slicer (e.g., Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer, Cura).
• Understanding of design for 3D printing: tolerances, wall thickness, overhangs.
• Good to have: experience with PLA, PETG, or TPU, and electronics enclosure design.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Important Information

• This role is fully on-site at their Hyderabad office. Applicants should live in or around Hyderabad/Secunderabad.
• Candidates must be able to join within one week of receiving an offer.
• A link to a design portfolio (Google Drive, GrabCAD, Printables, or similar) is required in the resume, set to "anyone with the link can view." Applications without a portfolio will not be considered.

Selection Process

• Portfolio review.
• In-person SolidWorks design exercise at the Hyderabad office.
• Interview.

Duration: 6 months

Stipend: ₹ 12,000 per month

Office Location: Ameerpet, Hyderabad

Working Days/Hours: Mon–Fri, 9 am–6 pm
