About the Role

The position is with the Prime Brokerage & Clearing Operations team at Goldman Sachs. The role involves supporting Prime Brokerage & Clearing Operations, which provides clearing, execution, and custody services for all major products across over 75 exchanges. The department's key priorities are to mitigate risk, provide exceptional client service, and drive strategic change.

Key Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders including Business, Engineering, Operations, and Credit.
• Actively engaging, partnering, and driving changes to provide excellent service and support.
• Delivering transactions within agreed timeframes, as per SLAs, while improving processing quality and reducing errors to foster a zero-error culture.
• Processing payments, journals, and securities movements in accordance with Firm guidelines.
• Monitoring and resolving trade management exceptions by interacting with clients, brokers, and other Operations teams.
• Performing effective pre-matching and fails management tasks to ensure timely settlement of trades with counterparties.
• Investigating and resolving discrepancies of positions (cash and securities) in the firm’s books and records.
• Demonstrating effective client service by addressing client queries with sensitivity and urgency.
• Escalating critical and high-value breaks to senior management.
• Providing technical expertise related to the implementation of new processes, global consistency, risk management, efficiency, and technology convergence initiatives.
• Completing and overseeing daily checklists, ensuring all controls, procedures, and processes relating to assigned functions are followed.
• Acting as a change agent, solving problems at root cause, and identifying opportunities to automate flows.

• Strong relationships with all stakeholders – Business, Engineering, Operations and Credit.

• Proficiency in processing payments, journals and securities movements in accordance with Firm guidelines.
• Skill in monitoring and resolving trade management exceptions by interacting with clients, brokers & other Ops teams.
• Competence in effective pre-matching & fails management tasks to ensure timely settlement of trades with counterparties.
• Ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies of positions (cash and securities) in the firm’s books and records.
• Demonstrate effective client service by dealing with client queries with utmost sensitivity & urgency.
• Capability for effective escalation on critical & high value breaks to senior management.
• Technical expertise related to the implementation of new processes, global consistency, risk management, efficiency, and technology convergence initiatives.
• Ability to complete and oversee daily checklists ensuring all controls, procedures and processes relating to the assigned functions are followed.
• Act as a change agent solving problems at root cause whilst also taking / making opportunities to automate flows.
