About the Role
- Fin is a financial literacy app designed for kids and teens, teaching essential money skills through daily lessons, games, and real-life money tools. Parents are kept informed with weekly check-ins and a practice bank account. Fin is developed by FinLiteracy LLC, a Houston-based startup with a presence on the App Store and Google Play.
The Role
We are seeking one college student to manage Fin's social media presence. This role involves full ownership of Fin's official TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube accounts, including launching and managing the Instagram account day-to-day. Responsibilities encompass content creation, posting, community engagement (comments and messages), and growth strategies. The intern will work directly with the founder, with results directly impacting app downloads and earnings. This is an early-stage role at a growing company, with potential for a full-time position and negotiable equity for strong performers.
Key Responsibilities
- Fully manage Fin's official TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram accounts, posting 3–5 times per week across platforms.
- Plan and create short videos and posts including money tips, app clips, trending content, and educational "things school never taught you" material. (App screen recordings, brand graphics, and fonts will be provided).
- Respond to comments and direct messages on Fin's accounts to foster a community of parents and students.
- Proactively reach out to creators, parent groups, campus clubs, and teachers for potential collaborations or content sharing.
- Submit a concise weekly update detailing posts, views, follower growth, link clicks, sign-ups, and proposed next steps.
- Propose and implement new ideas for social media strategy.
Compensation
-
A personal Fin link and code will be provided for use in account bios and posts. All families signing up through this link will be credited to the intern.
-
Families using the link receive their first month free, followed by a monthly subscription of $9.99, or an annual plan for $49.99 (on iPhone).
-
Commission (no cap):
-
Monthly-plan families: $5 upon first payment, $2 for each subsequent paid month (months 2-12), loyalty bonuses of +$3 (month 3), +$5 (month 6), and +$10 (month 12) for continued subscriptions. Up to $45 per family in the first year.
-
Annual-plan families: $12 (30 days post-purchase, no refund), $6 upon renewal for a second year.
-
Paperback orders through the link: $5 per copy.
-
Fin Tuition Scholarship: 10% of net revenue from referred families is set aside monthly for the duration of their subscription. This balance can be used for tuition, fees, student loans, or a 529 plan, with an option to receive 50% as cash.
-
Payouts are processed monthly by the 15th, based on App Store and Google Play records.
Growth Path
- Equity is negotiable for the right candidate.
- Potential transition to a full-time role.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Current college student (any major).
- Proficiency and understanding of TikTok and Instagram dynamics, including viral content principles.
- Comfortable appearing on camera or skilled in creating content without direct on-camera presence.
- Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter, work independently, and maintain a consistent posting schedule.
- Interest in personal finance, education, or startups is a plus but not required.
- Bonus experience with CapCut or Canva, or experience growing an account is beneficial.
What else you get
- Full creative control over real brand accounts with demonstrable results for a résumé.

- Approximately 10–20 flexible hours per week, scheduled around classes.
