Where Fresher Jobs Are Actually Posted in India (2026 Data)

October 6, 2026 · 4 min read · India

Freshers are told to "check every job portal every day". That is not a plan. We looked at one week of entry-level job posts in India to see where the openings really are, when they appear, and which ones to skip.

How many fresher jobs are posted in a week

In the week ending 6 October 2026, FirstHire collected 64,563 job posts in India that asked for 0–2 years of experience (after removing bulk reposting agencies). Of these:

  • 37,590 asked for no experience at all
  • 5,308 were internships
  • 3,917 were fully remote / work from home

That is roughly 9,000 entry-level openings a day. The problem is not a lack of jobs. It is finding the right ones before hundreds of other applicants do.

LinkedIn or Naukri?

Both, for different reasons:

  • LinkedIn: 37,606 posts (58%). 69% of LinkedIn's entry-level posts asked for no experience. Multinationals, startups and product companies post here, and many "Easy Apply" jobs take a minute to apply to.
  • Naukri: 26,691 posts (41%). Only 43% asked for zero experience, but Naukri posts more often state a salary and include walk-in drives and roles in smaller cities.
  • Unstop: 266 posts. Small in number, but mostly paid internships and hiring challenges aimed at students.

If you only use one site, you miss about half of the market.

Where the jobs are

Bengaluru had the most entry-level posts (about 7,700), followed by Hyderabad (3,750), Chennai (3,050), Mumbai (3,000), Gurugram (2,950), Noida (2,750), Pune (2,400) and Ahmedabad (1,700). If you are open to relocating, filter by city: Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Mumbai and Delhi NCR.

By field, sales and business development led by a wide margin (about 8,800 posts), followed by customer support (4,600), marketing (4,200), software development (4,100) and finance (3,500). Non-IT graduates have more openings than they think.

Posting volume follows the work week. In our sample, Tuesday and Thursday each carried more than twice Friday's volume, and Sunday had the fewest new posts. Searching on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, or setting alerts, catches most new openings while they are fresh.

Companies posting the most fresher jobs

Among employers (not agencies), the most entry-level posts in the week came from Accenture, Bajaj Finance, Infosys, Amazon, IBM, EY and EXL. Big IT services companies also run separate off campus drives with their own registration pages; see companies hiring freshers, for example the TCS and Infosys pages.

Skip these posts

A handful of consultancies posted more than 5,000 near-identical "fresher" posts between them in the week. Some are genuine recruiters; many collect resumes for roles that don't exist. Warning signs:

  • The same title posted dozens of times in different cities on the same day
  • A fee of any kind: registration, training, certification, laptop or "security deposit"
  • An interview on WhatsApp or Telegram only, with no company email or website
  • A salary far above the market for no stated skills (the median fresher range is ₹2.5–4.2 LPA; see our fresher salary report)
  • An offer letter before any interview

When in doubt, find the job on the company's own careers page. If it isn't there, don't send documents.

A simple weekly routine

  1. Set alerts for 2–3 searches (role + city) instead of browsing everything.
  2. Apply within 24 hours of a post going live. Early applicants are more likely to be read.
  3. Tailor the top third of your resume to each role: the title, three skills from the job post, one relevant project.
  4. Track every application with the date, so you follow up after a week instead of applying twice.

FirstHire does the first and last steps for you: it collects fresher jobs from LinkedIn, Naukri and Unstop as they are posted, shows how well each one matches your skills, and tracks what you applied to.

FAQ

Which is the best job site for freshers in India?

There isn't one. In a week of data, LinkedIn carried 58% of entry-level posts and Naukri 41%. LinkedIn had more no-experience roles; Naukri more posts with salaries and walk-in drives. Using both, or a tool that collects both, covers almost the whole market.

How many fresher jobs are posted in India every day?

About 9,000. FirstHire counted 64,563 posts asking for 0–2 years of experience in the week ending 6 October 2026, including 37,590 that needed no experience.

How do I know if a fresher job is fake?

Be wary of any fee, interviews only on WhatsApp or Telegram, no company email or website, salaries far above the market for no skills, and offer letters before an interview. Check that the job is listed on the company's own careers page.
